Physician Leadership Institute
Unique Opportunity for Physician Leaders
The Physician Leadership Institute provides an opportunity for physicians to gain a greater understanding of our health care system, its mission and its actual operation. Physicians learn about leadership, finance, strategic planning, operations and the medico-legal aspects of health care.
North Mississippi Health Services recently completed the application process for the 2021 Physician Leadership Institute. Check this page for updates on the 2022 application process.
As the health care environment continues to evolve, physician and hospital engagement and collaboration are imperative for mutual success. This program is a valuable opportunity to foster these objectives and, at the same time, enable physicians to acquire skills that will be useful in our offices and other settings. NMHS’ top leadership participates in the program and contributes their time and expertise on their areas of responsibility.
The instructors, books and other materials are provided. Estimated class size is 10-12 physicians. Dinner precedes each session. Projects and related activities take place between each didactic session.
To achieve the PLI’s goals, the physician will need to attend all eight sessions. As part of the application process, participants are asked for affirmation of the support of the physician’s group so that call duties and similar responsibilities will not interfere with this commitment.
