Cancer Care Medical Oncology
The Hematology Oncology team diagnoses and treats cancer and coordinates care for our patients in Tupelo and Starkville clinics.

Our expert medical oncology team at NMMC Hematology Oncology serves as the medical home for your cancer journey starting with diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
The medical oncology team at NMMC Hematology Oncology serves as your oncology primary care provider. We provide supportive care and coordinate treatment given by other specialists. Medical oncology also oversees cancer treatments using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy and other targeted medical treatments.
Medical oncologists: Our doctors are board-certified in oncology and hematology.
Nurse practitioners: Works in support of our physicians, available to patients.
Oncology nurses: Registered nurses with experience in cancer care and infusion.
Oncology nurse navigators: Serve as patient advocates, help with resources and referrals.
Oncology pharmacists: Prepare drug therapy treatments in our sterile facilities.
Social workers: Provides support and access to resources to meet patient needs.
Registered dietitians: Available to address weight loss and other dietary needs.
Palliative care focuses on what matters to you, as well as what is the matter with you. The goal of palliative care is to provide relief from symptoms and stress of a serious illness. At Cancer Care, we have a dedicated board-certified palliative care physician available to all cancer patients. Palliative care provides:
Education on disease process
Assistance with establishing treatment goals
Expert symptom management for pain & other issues
Spiritual and emotional support for patients & families
Support for informed decision making
