Your NMMC Radiation Oncology Team

Radiation treatment uses carefully calibrated high energy beams to destroy cancer cells. It requires a highly trained team of health care professionals to plan and deliver care for cancer patients. Our team at NMMC Radiation Oncology includes:

  • Radiation oncologists: Specialized, board-certified physicians who lead our team

  • Nurse practitioner: Works in support of our physicians, available to patients.

  • Radiation oncology nurses: Registered nurses with experience in cancer care

  • Radiation therapists: Administer the prescribed radiation treatment

  • Medical dosimetrists: Work closely with your physician to plan your treatment.

  • Medical physicists: Validate the treatment plan and verifies the radiation dose.

  • Social worker: Provides support and access to resources to meet patient needs.

  • Registered dietitian: Available to address weight loss and other dietary needs.
