Vestibular Therapy
Vestibular therapy at North Mississippi Medical Center helps decrease vertigo symptoms and improve balance.

Spinning Out of Control
Dizziness is one of the most common complaints adults report to their health care provider. Vestibular problems are more common as we age.

Vertigo
Spinning sensations
Nausea and/or vomiting
Lightheadedness
Falls
Ringing in the ears
Causes
Accidents, falls and many different diseases can cause vestibular dysfunction. Yet sometimes a cause may not be determined.
Treatment
Vestibular dysfunction is commonly treated with medication. Severe cases may warrant surgery.
Vestibular therapy may include re-positioning techniques and exercises specifically designed to retrain your balance system. We design your therapy for your specific needs and symptoms.
One of the most common causes of vertigo, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), is a biomechanical problem that is often treated in a single session.
We also use the NeuroCom Balance Manager for assessing and treating chronic dizziness and balance disorders.
Therapy continues until your symptoms are sufficiently reduced. Many times, symptoms are completely alleviated.
Referrals
You will need referral from your health care provider for vestibular therapy.
