Tips to Help Your Breast Care Visit Go Smoothly

We look forward to seeing you. Please review this information before your breast imaging appointment at the Breast Care Center in Tupelo or at our NMHS hospitals around the region.

Prior Images

To make sure we can complete your breast imaging study, it is essential we have any prior images taken at another facility.

You may download this release to obtain your images. Please complete this form and fax to (662) 377-2071 or to the facility where you had your last mammography procedure.  If you wish for our team to obtain your prior records, please stop by our office to sign a written release at least three days before your exam.

Without prior images to use for comparison, we may be unable to complete your study. You may be asked to reschedule to a later date, once prior images have been obtained.

Before Your Appointment

To ensure your appointment goes smoothly, please help us make sure everything is in order for your visit.

  • Screening mammograms can be scheduled without an order from a doctor.

  • All other breast imaging services require an order from a health care provider.

  • For questions about your benefits, contact insurance carrier before your visit.

What to Wear for Breast Imaging

Here are few suggestions to make your breast imaging visit more comfortable.

  • Please do not wear perfumes, scented lotions deodorant or powder.

  • We suggest wearing a two-piece outfit for your convenience.

  • Robes are provided for your comfort and privacy, or you may bring your own.

What to Expect

Depending on your scheduled services, your appointment may take up to two hours due to the specialized care we provide.

We will make every effort to see you at your scheduled appointment time. Unfortunately, we may experience delays due to the complex nature of our services, as well as unanticipated occurrences. We assure you that even if you are delayed, we will take the time you need for your appointment and will answer any related questions you may have. Your patience during delays is greatly appreciated. It is our goal to keep you updated on any delays.
