Be a Voice for Patients & Families

Our Patient and Family Advisory Councils are made up of patients and family members who have received care at an NMMC hospital, and they bring the patient perspective to everything we do.

What Advisory Councils Do

The councils include people with diverse backgrounds in an effort to fully represent the people we serve and the issues they face. Each council serves as a “voice” for patients and family members who receive care at an NMMC location. Members work alongside doctors, nurses, administrators and other health care providers to:

  • Share needs and concerns

  • Work with staff to make positive changes that impact patients and families

  • Participate in the design of patient care areas

  • Assist in the planning of new patient-related programs

  • Provide feedback on a wide variety of issues, services and policies

We are continually seeking volunteers to serve on Patient and Family Advisory Councils. Our goal is to recruit individuals who will bring their expertise to the councils. Meeting times vary depending on location. Patients or family members who receive care at NMMC hospitals who are interested in serving on one of the advisory councils are encouraged to submit a Volunteer Application.
