Don’t Face Heart Disease Alone

Mended Hearts of Northeast Mississippi has been helping heart patients, their families and caregivers since 1976.

Mended Hearts is a national non-profit volunteer organization. North Mississippi Medical Center's Volunteer Services Department and Heart & Vascular Institute sponsor Mended Hearts of Northeast Mississippi, which was chartered in Tupelo in October 1976.

Mended Hearts is a nationwide network for people with heart disease, their families and their caregivers. Our mission is “Inspiring hope and improving the quality of life for heart patients and their families through ongoing peer-to-peer support.”

Mended Hearts partners with NMMC to help foster a positive experience for heart patients through in-hospital visiting, monthly meetings, educational programs and community outreach.

Hospital Visitors

Mended Hearts Accredited Visitors share their personal experiences with NMMC's heart patients in the hope it will help in their recovery.

Monthly Meetings

As you recover and again become active, we invite you and your family to attend our monthly meetings.

We meet at 5:30 p.m. the last Thursday of each month in Room 21 on the first floor of NMMC's East Tower.

NMMC health care professionals present valuable information and the opportunity to ask questions. Topics include diet, exercise, medication, innovations in heart care and many others.
