North Mississippi Health Services contracts with Pafford Emergency Medical Services, a leader in pre- and post-hospital health care, for ground ambulance and medical helicopter services.

Pafford operates Pafford Air One Tango, formerly CareFlight medical helicopter services from Tupelo Regional Airport as well as ground emergency, critical care and neonatal intensive care transport services offered by NMHS hospitals in Tupelo, Eupora, Iuka, Pontotoc and West Point.

Pafford also provides non-emergency transportation to move patients to and from NMMC facilities and personal residences.

Neonatal Emergency Transport

Carexpress team with vehicle

Carexpress transports critically ill newborns from area hospitals to North Mississippi Medical Center's Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Women's Hospital.

Carexpress also transports newborns from NMMC to specialty hospitals when appropriate.

Transport Team

Our team includes medical personnel highly trained in neonatal transport and may include registered nurses and registered respiratory therapists from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Services

A specially designed emergency vehicle, Carexpress is equipped to accommodate up to two newborns in incubators. During transport, our team can deliver therapeutic hyperthermia, high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide to newborns.
