If you have lost weight only to gain it back—plus some—you may feel defeated.
It’s like all that hard work you put in vanished so quickly. So, why bother?
If you can relate, then it’s completely reasonable to feel skeptical, and to wonder why weight loss surgery would be any different than your past attempts to lose weight.
Weight Loss Surgery is Different
But weight loss surgery is different. It’s different in two main ways:
- Difference #1: Weight loss surgery can create a new “set point.” Unlike what happens with dieting or taking weight loss medications, weight loss surgery changes the actual composition of your body. It can help your brain actually calculate a new “set point.” This means your body will find a new (lower) weight range that it fights to maintain. This happens through the emotional, hormonal, and physiological changes that occur with weight loss surgery.
- Difference #2: Weight loss surgery is a long-term solution. Not a temporary one. Obesity is a multifaceted problem, and there is no magical cure for it. The procedure is just the tool—not the solution itself.
Walking Your Journey with You
If you have weight loss surgery, we don’t simply perform your procedure and then wish you good luck on your way out the door.
Success requires changes in many areas… surgical, dietary, supplementation, sleep habits, maybe even relationships. Our team acknowledges that fact, and we’re dedicated to helping you before and after surgery, to train and help you to live a new, healthier life.
We hold you accountable to your goal weight. Everything we do is to help you be successful losing the weight and keeping it off long-term.
Like our slogan says, weight loss is "A Journey to a New You.” We want to walk it with you, every step of the way. Learn more and see if weight loss surgery might be right for you.
