Viewing Hospital Test Results in MyChart

Smiling older woman meeting with health care provider
Summary

When you're in the hospital, it can be stressful waiting on lab or imaging results. With MyChart's hospital stay dashboard, get your test results sooner.

How do I find test results in MyChart?

Using the MyChart app, you can see any lab or imaging test results in real time while you’re admitted.

You can view these results by accessing the “Test Results” page in the main menu of your hospital stay dashboard, located at the bottom of the dashboard’s homepage.

Tests results are listed in the ordered they’re received, and abnormal results will be flagged.

Do not be alarmed when results are flagged as abnormal, as they are likely already expected or included as part of your inpatient care plan. To better understand what these results mean and how they’ll guide your care, consider having a conversation with a member of your care team and asking these questions:

  • What does this test look for and what do the results mean for my health
  • How are we working to change the results?
  • How often will I be retested?

Your care team is committed to helping you understand what these test results mean. Even if you view the results before a provider has a chance to explain them to you, rest assured that they are made aware quickly of any concerning results and will explain them to you as soon as possible.

If testing is still warranted for your condition after you’ve been discharged from your hospital stay, those results will automatically remain in your normal MyChart app and will be available to your primary care provider or specialist as they continue your care.

What if I don't have a MyChart account yet?

If you are not already a MyChart user, this page walks you through downloading the app and gaining access to the dashboard.

You will only be able to view "My Hospital Stay" on the MyChart mobile app. This view is not available on the webpage version of MyChart (i.e., Chrome or Edge browser).
