NMMC-Eupora Welcomes New Nursing Leaders
EUPORA, Mississippi—North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora recently welcomed new nursing leaders for the hospital and nursing home.
Susan Vaughan, MSN, RN, has been named as Chief Nursing Officer. Vaughan comes to Eupora from Ochsner Rush Health System in Meridian, where she had served as director of hospital operations for medical, surgical, cardiac telemetry, orthopedic, short stay and wound care departments since November 2021. She previously worked as chief operating officer for Haxtun Health District and chief nursing officer for Kit Carson County Health Service, both in Colorado, and as medical-surgical director and hospital educator for Henderson County Community Hospital in Lexington, Tennessee. Before departing Mississippi in 2015, she served in several nursing leadership roles with Central Mississippi Medical Center and St. Dominic Hospital, both in Jackson.
Vaughan completed her associate degree in nursing at Hinds Community College in 1992. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Walden University in 2013 and 2015, respectively.
Jessica Brown, RN, has been named as director of nursing for Webster Long-Term Care. She has been a member of the North Mississippi Health Services team for 15 years, working full-time in the clinic system and filling in at the nursing home. A 1999 graduate of Eupora High School, Brown completed her licensed practical nurse training and associate degree in nursing at Holmes Community College. She has been married to Jamie Brown for 25 years and has two children and two grandchildren.

She is both committed to patient safety and quality and a compassionate, proven leader,” said Robin Mixon, NMMC-Eupora administrator. “Jessica has been part of the system for many years and has continued to advance. It’s exciting to see her in this new role, leading with enthusiasm, dedication and a servant’s heart. ”
