North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton Honors Lewis as Star of the Quarter
HAMILTON, Alabama--North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton recently recognized Angie Lewis, infection preventionist, as Star of the Quarter.
Lewis joined the North Mississippi Health Services team in 2011. Before assuming her current role at the Hamilton hospital, she worked as a registered nurse in Surgery and the Emergency Room at NMMC-Tupelo.
In nominating Lewis, coworkers cited her commitment to the hospital’s hand hygiene program, specifically a system she created to educate staff and reward participation. Lewis holds a monthly drawing that includes employees who record five or more observations and creates a personalized gift basket for the winner.
“Angie is an asset to our facility, and I am thankful for her leadership,” her nomination states.
