North Mississippi Medical Clinics Honor Mills as Star of the Month
OKOLONA, Mississippi—North Mississippi Medical Clinics recently named Okolona Medical Clinic X-ray technologist Lori Mills, RT(R) as the Star of the Month.
Mills, who takes X-rays and performs lab tests for patients, joined Okolona Medical Clinic in 2001. Her coworkers nominated her as a stand-out teammate who goes the extra miles for patients and her teammates.
“There was a patient Lori felt was losing weight rapidly and unable to get to the grocery store to be able to eat as she should,” a colleague wrote in nominating Mills. “Lori went straight to work collaborating on a plan to help this patient.”
Mills shares her energy and her artistic talents to help the clinic shine. She has created the clinic’s Christmas and holiday decorations and turned the clinic’s lobby into an elegant space to celebrate when a colleague was named RN of the Year.
“She volunteers to do anything and everything needed to keep our clinic running smoothly,” another colleague wrote.
Mills is a graduate of Hatley High school and earned her associate degree of applied science in radiologic technology from Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
“What I love most about my job is being able to take care of patients,” Mills said. “They are my family, and I have grown to love each of them and my teammates over the years.”
She and her husband, Joey, have been married for 24 years. They have two children, Colby and Chloe. She attends Christian Chapel Church of Christ in Amory.
