About Me
Dr. Prasad is a cardiac electrophysiologist at North Mississippi Health Services and has been in practice since 2017. He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders.
He received his bachelor’s degrees in medicine and surgery from J.J.M. Medical College in Davangere, India, and completed residency training in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville.
He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Prasad serves on North Mississippi Medical Center's Institutional Review Board. He also serves as a faculty member of NMMC's Internal Medicine Residency Program, where he provides monthly lectures and has co-authored several publications with internal medicine residents. He won the program's Physician Preceptor of the Year award in 2023.
In addition, he serves on the core faculty for NMMC's Cardiology Fellowship.
Dr. Prasad has been part of multi-center and multi-national clinical trials in cardiology/cardiac electrophysiology as a co-investigator as well as principal investigator with publications in peer reviewed medical journals.
Outside of work, he is a sports enthusiast, particularly tennis, pickleball and biking. He also enjoys traveling and exploring new places with his family, as well as trying out new cuisines.
