On Jan. 20, Talbot House Bakery & Café expanded to the first floor of the hospital’s East Tower. The original location in the West Main Shopping Center will remain open.
Hours will be 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday. Coffee and breakfast items—such as cinnamon rolls, caramel pecan rolls, blueberry rolls, sausage cream cheese rolls and breakfast paninis—and sweets—like their popular Miraculous Sea Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies—will be available all day.
Lunch, which includes a variety of sandwiches, paninis and soups, will be served between 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Catering is also available from this location. The bakery will feature seasonal specials like pumpkin rolls and caramel apple rolls. This spring the staff plans to add espresso to the menu.
The bakery is a social enterprise of Talbot House, a nonprofit organization providing housing and support services to women recovering from substance use disorder. After completing an inpatient treatment program, women can live at Talbot House and receive services as long as needed.
Founding Director Becky Weatherford and her team opened the original Talbot House Bakery & Café in 2019 to provide employment and job readiness training for the women they serve.
“We are deeply honored by this partnership between Talbot House and North Mississippi Health Services,” Weatherford said. “This collaboration will open new doors for our residents, empowering them to advance their recovery, strengthen their sense of community and find renewed purpose.”
