AMORY, Miss. — Long-time Amory podiatrist Dr. Vern Christensen and North Mississippi Medical Clinics are joining forces to create Amory Podiatry Clinic.

“We are proud to have Dr. Christensen join our health care family,” said David Barber, president of North Mississippi Medical Clinics. “His experience and compassion for others make him a fantastic addition to our team.”

Dr. Christensen, who has provided specialized foot and ankle care in Amory for more than 20 years, will continue to see patients in his office at the Medical Arts Building on the campus of North Mississippi Medical Center Gilmore-Amory

“I look forward to expanding my network of health care professionals and building relationships that will allow me to serve more patients in the north Mississippi region,” said Dr. Christensen. Dr. Christensen chose a career in health care because he has always been fascinated by the human body and is driven to help relieve people’s suffering.

Dr. Christensen earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency at Florida Hospital, now known as AdventHealth Orlando. A triple board-certified podiatrist, Dr. Christensen specializes in foot and ankle surgery, wound management and minimally invasive procedures.

Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, cycling, fitness, hiking, touring and traveling. He is married with three children and four grandchildren.
