HOUSTON, Mississippi — North Mississippi Medical Clinics recently named Chickasaw Medical Clinic licensed practical nurse Bridget Logan as the Star of the Month.
Logan has been a part of the Chickasaw Medical Clinic team since 2013. She joined the North Mississippi Health Services family in 2011, caring for pediatric patients at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo. She went on to work in a number of nursing roles, serving in the nursing float pool and training newly hired clinic nurses.
In nominating Logan, her coworkers said Logan goes the extra mile to make sure her patients have what they need. When a mother couldn’t afford medications for her child, Bridget paid for the medication anonymously.
“Bridget is always there for everyone who needs her,” her teammate wrote. “She's always ready to lend a helping hand. I never see her sitting still. and if she doesn't have a patient, she's asking to help someone who does. Her patients love her, and she always greets them with a smile. This is not just once in a while; this is every single day.”
Logan graduated from Vardaman High School and completed her licensed practical nurse training at Northwest Community College. She frequently mentors high school and college students considering careers in health care.
Logan was named a North Mississippi Health Services All Star in 2017, 2018 and 2021. She has been previously honored as Employee of the Month in 2011 and 2015. She volunteers for special projects and serves on committees.
“God has blessed me so much throughout my nursing career and taught me so many lessons,” Logan said. “I truly love my patients, and I always strive to make them feel like family. Every patient has a story, and if you truly listen sometimes you will realize why they are feeling like they are or experiencing the symptoms they have. Patients may not remember your name or what you might have done for them, but they will always remember how you made them feel.”
She is the daughter of David Hallum and Betsy Tharpe. She and her husband, Waylon Logan, have been married for 20 years and have three sons, Landon, Layton and Lanson. She attends Midway Baptist Church in Vardaman.
