HAMILTON, Alabama—North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton recently awarded a $1,000 college scholarship to Carli Kilgore, a recent graduate of Marion County High School in Guin.

In high school, Kilgore served as president and vice president of HOSA Future Health Professionals, as well as vice president of National Honor Society. She was an active member of Talent Search, 4-H Youth Council, Robotics Club and Community Kindness clubs.

Kilgore plans to major in nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham before pursuing a career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. This summer, she is taking a Patient Care Technician certification course so that she can work in health care while attending college.

“I am so grateful and excited for the opportunity to begin this next chapter of my career,” she says. “I want to be this next generation of passionate nursing professionals. I want to motivate and change the lives of not only patients, but of coworkers and fellow students.” A resident of Winfield, she is the daughter of Briana Goodwin and Matthew Kilgore.

Kilgore’s scholarship was awarded through the Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi.
