Birmingham Retires from Biomedical Services
Sharon Birmingham, customer service rep for the Biomedical Services Department, recently retired with more than 25 years of service at NMMCCongratulations to Sharon Birmingham, customer service representative for the Biomedical Services Department, who recently retired with more than 25 years of service to North Mississippi Medical Center.
A Lexington, South Carolina, native, Sharon joined the NMMC team in July 1997 working for Tupelo Service Finance. After a year, she transferred to the Biomed Department, where she worked as a customer service representative for eight years, then as department secretary for five years. She finished out her career by serving as a customer service representative again for the last 10 years and says she really enjoyed helping people who needed supplies and service.
While Sharon says, “I will miss everyone and have enjoyed my time here,” she looks forward to spending more time with her mother, siblings and other family members who still live in South Carolina. She and her husband, Jimmy, live in Tremont and will soon celebrate their 30th anniversary. Her sons, Benjamin Rodgers IV and Cody and Dustin Birmingham, have blessed her with lots of grandchildren.
With her newfound time, Sharon plans to fish, play games on her tablet and knit. Not many people know that Sharon is also a good singer. “I love to do it often,” Sharon says, “even in the car!”
