NMMC to Host Mentorship Academy for Students
North Mississippi Medical Center is hosting a Mentorship Academy beginning March 1, 2022
TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center is hosting a Mentorship Academy beginning March 1, 2022, for high school students interested in nursing or other health careers.
Mentorship Academy will meet from 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays for six weeks (skipping Spring Break). Students will also be required to complete a two-hour shadowing session each week.
Following successful completion of the Mentorship Academy, each participant will receive certified nursing assistant training June 6-24, 2022, at Itawamba Community College’s Belden campus.
Interested students should send a completed application packet to capolson@nmhs.net by February 4, 2022. Applications are available in high school guidance offices or at www.nmhs.net/youth-education. Along with their application, students are required to submit their high school transcript, a 250-word essay, letters of recommendation and their ACT score if taken (not required). Interviews will be conducted February 8, 9, and 10.
