PONTOTOC, Miss.—Shana Kidd, RN, clinical outcomes coordinator, has been named Employee of the Quarter at North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc.
Kidd joined NMMC-Pontotoc in 2005. She earned an associate degree in nursing from Itawamba Community College and is working on a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Mississippi University for Women. Kidd is a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology.
When asked what she loved most about her job, Kidd said “promoting a safe environment for the patients we serve and striving for better patient outcomes.”
In her nomination, co-workers complimented Kidd for being a compassionate and competent caregiver and teammate.
“Shana displays a great deal of understanding of her role and shares her knowledge with her peers,” one co-worker wrote. “When she is assisting with a process, she takes the time to adequately explain the reasoning behind the process or change needed. Shana manages her time wisely and never seems to waste a second during the day.”
“Shana always places patient care first in her approach to her job,” another co-worker wrote. “Her desire for high quality care drives her as a nurse leader, which can be seen in her work. She constantly looks for ways to improve patient care, which leads to more positive outcomes in the hospital and long-term care settings.”
Kidd and her husband Jeremy have three children—14-year-old Cayden; 12-year-old Callie; and Carson, 5. The family resides in Pontotoc and attends Longview Baptist Church. In her spare time, Kidd enjoys yard work, crafts and spending time with her children.
