Physician Shadowing Students Complete 2021 Program
Students recently completed the June session of NMMC’s Physician Shadowing ProgramTUPELO, Miss.—Students recently completing the June session of NMMC’s Physician Shadowing Program are (from left) Jonathon Hubbert of Huntsville, Alabama, a student at Mississippi State University; Peyton Allen of Aberdeen, a student at the University of Alabama-Birmingham; Sanders Goode of New Albany, a student at Mississippi College; Abigail Carroll of Yazoo City, a student at the University of Mississippi; and Evan McCutchen of Pontotoc, a student at MSU.
To participate, pre-med students must have completed their junior year in college and aspire to a career in medicine. Each student receives hourly compensation, a lab coat and support materials. The Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi funds the program through the Dr. P.K. Thomas Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund. For more information, visit www.nmhs.net/youth.
