The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently released updated star ratings, and North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton received five stars, the highest quality rating.

HAMILTON, Ala.—The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently released updated star ratings, and North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton received five stars, the highest quality rating.

Of 4,586 hospitals, only 13.5%, or 455 hospitals, received five stars. North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton is one of only six hospitals in Alabama to receive five stars.

The star rating summarizes a variety of measures across five areas of quality. Each hospital is measured for mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care.

“This is a testament to our physicians and clinical support staff and their focus on quality and safety,” said hospital administrator Robert Trimm. “I am proud of our team for their ongoing efforts to consistently provide excellent care here in Hamilton.”
