NMMC Sleep Disorders Center Employee Earns National Accreditation
Rashidah Shelton, NMMC Sleep Disorders Center completed the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic/Evoked Potential Technologists Inc. EEG
TUPELO, Mississippi – Rashidah Shelton of the North Mississippi Medical Center Sleep Disorders Center recently completed the training and passed the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists Inc. (ABRET) EEG exam. ABRET is the national credentialing board for electroencephalographic (EEG) technologists.
Shelton, an employee for NMMC since 1982, recently made the decision to attend Laboure’ College where she majored in neurodiagnostic technology. In 2019, Shelton obtained a certificate in neurodiagnostic technology. Today, Shelton is a credentialed EEG technician and holds the title of Radiologic Electroencephalography Technologist (REEGT).
“I have personally known Rashidah for almost 25 years,” said Darrick Whitfield, TH.D. Director of NMMC’s Neurophysiology and Sleep Disorders Center. “I have always admired Rashidah, especially for her deep compassion and love for the neurophysiology department. Rashidah is so dedicated, committed, hardworking and truly loves what she does. Congratulations, Rashidah. A job well done! You are so deserving of this great accomplishment!”
