AMORY, Mississippi—North Mississippi Medical Center Gilmore-Amory recently presented the first ever Pride of Gilmore Award to certified nursing assistant Kimberly Gunn Darden of the ICU.

Darden was nominated by several of her patients and family members for going above and beyond, showing respect and providing encouragement to others.

Darden is the first recipient of the Pride of Gilmore Award. The award will be given out quarterly to a team member.

“The Pride of Gilmore award recipients personify NMMC Gilmore Amory’s remarkable care and commitment,” said Susan Anne Edwards, Community Outreach Coordinator.

Darden graduated from Okolona High School and joined the NMMC Gilmore-Amory staff in 2015. She and her husband, Archie, have four children and attend New Blessings Church in Okolona.

“What I love most about my job is being able to help my patients and family feel like they are home,” Darden wrote. “Every morning I enter the room singing one of my favorite hymns and it always brightens their day.”

Darden received a certificate, a goodie basket and balloon from her coworkers.
