PONTOTOC, Miss.—Kim Dowdy, data analyst, has been named North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc’s latest Employee of the Quarter.

Dowdy has worked at NMMC-Pontotoc since 2001. A graduate of Pontotoc High School, Dowdy attended Santa Barbara City College in California and is certified in Health Information Technology. She has also worked as a billing clerk, billing supervisor and reimbursement specialist.

When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Dowdy said “helping others, solving problems, learning new things and the consistent change.”

“Kim often works in the Emergency Services Department and outpatient areas and has been commended by family and coworkers for treating all with respect,” a coworker wrote in her nomination. “You can feel her smile with her voice. She has been referred to as ‘The Fixer’ for rendering her knowledge and assistance to others.”

“Kim has been commended often by other managers and coworkers for the high quality of her work,” another coworker wrote. “She is willing to accept the challenge of learning new things. Kim is known for consistently going beyond the call of duty, and then being observant for the next time a situation may occur.”

Dowdy lives in Pontotoc with her husband, Brad, and son, C.J. She assists the Troy Volunteer Fire Department as its benefit coordinator and in her spare time she enjoys family time, reading and vacations.
