TUPELO, Mississippi—Lisa Ann Townsend of West Point Children’s Clinic has recently been recognized as North Mississippi Medical Clinics’ Employee of the Month.

Townsend has been an admissions/discharge specialist with West Point Children’s Clinic since 2016. She  first joined the North Mississippi Health Services staff in 1994 and has worked as a certified nursing assistant in the nursing home at NMMC-Pontotoc, billing clerk and file clerk at NMMC-Pontotoc, transcriptionist at NMMC-Pontotoc and NMMC-Tupelo, and admissions/discharge specialist at Oxford Medical Clinic.

“Lisa greets each patient with a smile. If a patient has a problem, she will help to find a solution,” wrote a co-worker in her nomination. “She cares and respects her workers and patients.”

“Lisa is kindhearted, selfless and very generous,” wrote another.

What Townsend enjoys most about her job is interacting with her patients. “I love to smile. Hopefully, seeing a smiling face when entering the clinic will ease parents’ minds when they’re worried about their sick child,” she said. “I want the parents to feel love and compassion here.”

Townsend says she considers the West Point Children’s Clinic staff like family. “I love working at a job that I don’t mind coming to on a daily basis,” she added.

Townsend has two grown children, Robert Pulliam and Ranesha Townsend, and three grandchildren. She lives in Houlka and attends Gordon Chapel.
