OKOLONA, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Clinics recently named Na’Kesa Bowens, admission/discharge referrals specialist at Okolona Medical Clinic, as the November Employee of the Month.

Bowens has worked at the Okolona clinic since 2014.

She is a graduate of Oxford High School and attended Itawamba Community College in Fulton. She has additional training in phlebotomy.

When asked what she loved most about her job, Bowens said, “My patients that turn into my extended family and the fulfillment of knowing that I’m helping them.”

Coworkers credited Bowens as being a hard worker who goes above and beyond her job duties and is compassionate to patients and their families.

“Kesa is definitely a team player,” one coworker wrote in her nomination. “She is always asking us what she can do to help us out and does everything she can. Kesa always tries to help the patients with their needs and does it with a smile.”

“Kesa demonstrates excellent customer service skills,” another coworker wrote. “She is friendly and greets our patients with a smile, courtesy and respect. She shows kindness and empathy to our patients, even in stressful situations.”

Bowens has a son, 9-year-old Marquis. She attends Jesus Crown of Life Church in Oxford.

The Employee of the Month honor recognizes employees with exemplary job performance and customer service skills, as well as community involvement.
