BALDWYN, Miss.—Katherine Thompson of Food and Nutrition Services has been selected by her peers as Baldwyn Nursing Facility’s most recent Employee of the Month.
Thompson joined the Baldwyn Nursing Facility staff nine years ago. She is a graduate of S.D. Lee High School in Columbus and studied business at Mississippi State College for Women (now Mississippi University for Women).
She has been married to Jimmy L. Thompson Sr. for 55 years and they have three children—Judith Thierfelder, Jim Thompson Jr. and Jennifer Moore—and, according to her, “11 of the most wonderful grandchildren ever.”
“The best part about working here is my special co-workers in Food and Nutrition,” Thompson says, “as well as the residents and the family atmosphere that exists throughout Baldwyn Nursing Facility.”
In her nomination, Thompson’s co-workers wrote, “We love our ‘Granny’ and so appreciate her hard work and dedication.”
