BALDWYN, Miss.—Sarah Burns, a certified nursing assistant, has been selected by her peers as Baldwyn Nursing Facility’s most recent Employee of the Month.

Burns graduated from Kearsley High School in Flint, Michigan, in 2016 and moved to Mississippi shortly after graduation. She completed her CNA training at Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2019 and joined the staff of Baldwyn Nursing Facility shortly thereafter. She is currently pursuing her associate degree in nursing at Itawamba Community College.

Burns resides in Mooreville with her aunt and her cat named “Rock.” She enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews.

“The best part of working at Baldwyn Nursing Facility is having an opportunity to bond with the residents and help make their lives easier,” Burns says. “Seeing the smiles on their faces often brightens my day. Also, I love working with a great staff who inspire me to pursue my goal of nursing.”

In Burns’ nomination, co-workers wrote, “She always goes above and beyond for the residents and to help her staff. She is always a team player and never complains. She is always so happy and singing.”
