About Me
Dr. Brian E. Condit serves as medical director of the Rehabilitation Institute.
A physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, Dr. Condit served as medical director of the Rehabilitation Institute from June 2004 until December 2014. He returned to the position in 2019 after serving for several years as vice president/chief medical officer for the Northeast Market of Mountain States Health Alliance. There he worked with the medical staff and administration of Johnston Memorial Hospital, Russell County Medical Center and Smyth County Community Hospital in Virginia.
Dr. Condit received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Arizona in Tucson and completed his medical training at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. He completed his internship, as well as internal medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation residencies, at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Condit served as chief resident during his internal medicine residency. From 2000 to 2004, he served as medical director for the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
Dr. Condit helped found NMMC’s Physician Leadership Institute in 2011 and served as its director through 2014. He is also a Baldrige Fellow and played a key role when both NMMC and NMHS won Baldrige awards.
Dr. Condit is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
