Cancer Journey Support Group Now Meeting in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Mississippi – North Mississippi Health Services Cancer Care is now offering a support group for survivors at its Starkville location.

The Cancer Journey support group will hold its first meeting 12:30-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Cancer Care Starkville, 1205 Hwy. 182 West. The meeting is free and open to any cancer survivor, as well as caregivers.

“Support groups allow individuals to get together with others with similar experiences and allow patients the opportunity to talk, share and learn from others,” said Cancer Care social worker Lauren Thompson, who will lead the Starkville Cancer Journey group.

The support group will meet quarterly. The dates for 2025 will be Feb. 11, May 13, Aug. 12 and Nov. 11. All meetings will be from 12:30-2 p.m.

North Mississippi Health Services Cancer Care offers comprehensive oncology care including hematology oncology, radiation oncology and outpatient infusion services in Starkville.
