NMMC Honors Funderburk with DAISY Award
TUPELO, Mississippi— North Mississippi Medical Center has recognized Jenna Funderburk, RN, of 3 West with a recent DAISY Award.
Funderburk was nominated by a coworker after a patient voiced dissatisfaction with the hospital’s soap. “Jenna spent her own money to DoorDash an order from Walgreens with different types of soap,” she wrote. “The patient was able to get a good bath, and she felt clean again.” The patient’s family was very thankful for Funderburk’s extra effort to help her feel better.
Funderburk joined the North Mississippi Health Services team in 2016 and completed her nursing training at Itawamba Community College in 2020. She is certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
Funderburk received a certificate, a DAISY Award pin, a bouquet donated by Bishop’s Flower Shop and a hand-carved stone sculpture titled A Healer’s Touch. The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary compassionate and skillful care given by nurses every day.
