Evans Retires from NMHS Administration

Congratulations to administrative assistant Pam Evans, who recently retired with 32 years of service to North Mississippi Health Services.

Pam joined the NMHS team in April 1991 and served as executive assistant to Gerald Wages, NMHS chief financial officer and executive vice president of finance, until his retirement in 2012. For the past 11 years, Pam has served as administrative assistant to Lynn Holland, vice president of finance, providing support in both NMHS Administration and Accounting Services.

“I believe the success of the NMHS organization has been built on the hard work and efforts of dedicated leaders and frontline workers who came before us,” Pam says. “I leave here with the hope that I had a tiny part in contributing toward its continued success.”

A 1976 graduate of Mantachie High School, Pam completed an associate degree in secretarial science in 1978 from Itawamba Community College in Fulton. She earned the Certified Professional Secretary designation in 1991.

“I have enjoyed watching health care evolve, specifically with advancements in technology and medical treatments,” Pam adds. “Those improvements have had such a positive impact on the quality of care our system provides for its patients.”

Pam is past president of the Mississippi Association of Healthcare Administrative Professionals and the Tupelo Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. She served as secretary of the Susan G. Komen North Mississippi Affiliate Board of Directors.

“The friendships I’ve established here, past and present, are a gift and a blessing,” she says. While Pam will miss seeing her coworkers every day, she looks forward to spending more quality time with family and friends, traveling, and enjoying her pets and the outdoors.

She lives in Saltillo with her husband, Robert, and son, Ryan.
