HCF Donates AED to New Albany Tennis Courts & Soccer Complex
“We are thankful to have this potentially life-saving device readily available,” said Suzy Bowman, New Albany High School Tennis Coach. “We hope we never need it, but we feel safer knowing it is here if one of our students ever needs it. We have students out here playing and practicing regularly, and this makes us all feel safer.”
An AED delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart to potentially stop an irregular heartbeat and allow the return of a normal rhythm following sudden cardiac arrest. If not treated within minutes, sudden cardiac arrest quickly leads to death.
