North Mississippi Medical Clinics Honor Honnoll as Star of the Month
WEST POINT, Mississippi—North Mississippi Medical Clinics recently named Area Coordinator for Rural Health Clinics Amanda Honnoll as the Star of the Month.
Honnoll joined North Mississippi Health Services in 2004 as an admissions/discharge specialist team leader at Lowndes Medical Clinic. She went on to serve as office manager at West Point Internal Medicine and West Point Children’s Clinic.
In her current role, she is based at West Point Children’s Clinic but serves as a mentor to clinic managers in West Point and Starkville, aids with special projects and assists with preparations for rural health surveys.
Her coworkers lauded her care for patients and her team, her positive attitude even in the face of personal challenges and her generosity with homemade treats to celebrate.
“She shows joyful endurance and a beautiful strength in every situation,” one coworker wrote in nominating her. “Her smile and laughter are infectious and brighten any situation. Quit is not in her, but she is full of ‘get it done.’”
Her fellow office managers with North Mississippi Medical Clinics praised her team spirit.
“She stepped away from her own busy schedule to come over to my clinic and spent all afternoon helping me (prepare for a new accreditation process). That meant the world to me that she would even offer to show up, sleeves rolled up and ready to work,” her colleague wrote. “Amanda exemplifies what a team player and leader are supposed to be like.”
She graduated from Sulligent (Alabama) High School. She earned an associate degree in healthcare management from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida. She also studied coding and medical billing at East Mississippi Community College.
“The best part of my job is making sure every patient has the best experience,” Honnoll said. “What I love about my job is working with a team who puts our patients first above all else.”
Honnoll has three sons, Mason, Landon and Weston Honnoll. She attends Living Waters church in Gattman.
