BNF Honors Poteet as Outstanding Employee

Lecia PoteetBALDWYN, Mississippi—The Baldwyn Nursing Facility team has selected respiratory therapist Lecia Poteet as the most recent Star of the Month.

Poteet joined the North Mississippi Medical Center staff 18 years ago as a certified nursing assistant. A graduate of Baldwyn High School, she completed her associate degree in respiratory care at Itawamba Community College and transferred to Baldwyn Nursing Facility nine years ago as a respiratory therapist. A licensed cosmetologist, she also serves residents in Baldwyn Nursing Facility’s beauty shop on her days off work.

“Lecia is special lady who is so kind and caring to everyone she meets,” a coworker wrote in her nomination. “She is dedicated, dependable and full of compassion.”

“What drew me to Baldwyn Nursing Facility is the sense of family felt here. It is a unique environment where you become extremely close with not only your teammates and co-workers but the residents we are privileged to serve,” Poteet says. “Not only do I feel I get to make a difference in the physical well-being of those I care for, but I see the emotional impact of having routine caregivers that build relationships with our elders, residents and family members. My mother was even a resident here during the ending years of her life. Baldwyn Nursing Facility is just a special place.”

She is married to Phillip “Bo” Poteet and has a daughter, Tasha Hester (husband Chris), and 7-year-old grandson, John Phillip Hester. She also serves as “Momma” to multiple four-legged fur babies. The Poteets attend New Hope Baptist Church in Tupelo.
