Starkville Hematology Oncology Lab Receives Perfect Score
STARKVILLE, Mississippi—North Mississippi Medical Center Cancer Care’s hematology oncology lab in Starkville recently achieved a perfect score in the recent biennial survey by the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA).
“Perfect score surveys are rare, and we have been able to maintain a perfect score for the last five surveys,” said Rupal Vora, MT, laboratory manager.
COLA accreditation ensures that labs are efficient and meet all federal and state regulations. Meeting COLA’s practical, educational standards has an immediate and positive impact on patient care.
“COLA accreditation means our patients can know they are receiving the highest-quality, most efficient and safest care,” Vora says.
In addition, COLA awarded the NMMC Hematology Oncology lab with the Laboratory Excellence Award for meeting all required protocols with perfect proficiency testing results.
“Our lab has received this honor five surveys in a row,” Vora says. “I am thankful to all laboratory and clinic staff for maintaining the high standards that our patients deserve.”
