Sonia Fuller Named NMMC-Pontotoc Employee of the Quarter

Sonia Fuller employee of the quarter PontotocPONTOTOC, Miss.—Sonia Fuller, unit coordinator and monitor technician in Nursing Services, has been named Employee of the Quarter at North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc.

A native of Houston and graduate of Houlka Attendance Center, Fuller joined NMMC-Pontotoc in 2004. She has also worked as a nursing assistant. She is a certified telemetry technician and certified nursing assistant.

            When asked what she enjoyed most about her job, Fuller said “helping others, making others smile and giving to others. Helping patients become independent again so they can return home.”

Coworkers noted Fuller’s attitude toward patients and her willingness to help her fellow employees.

“Sonia always comes in extra to help other workers from being short-handed,” one coworker wrote in her nomination. “She always asks how she can help and goes out of her way for her patients and expects nothing out of it.”

“She always has a great attitude with patients and employees,” another coworker wrote. “Patients always get excited when she is caring for them.”

She is married to Paul Fuller and has three sons—Thomas, Nicholas and Johnanthan—and grandchildren Bryson, Stella and Jamison. The family attends Pearson Chapel Nazarene Church in Houston.

In her spare time, she enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with her family.
