When it came time for their six-month visit to Booneville Medical Clinic, Bill and Leslie Naucke opted for a virtual appointment instead. “We were sitting on our back deck under our gazebo when we called the clinic,” Leslie says. “It was so much fun! We got the specific things we needed addressed taken care of, and then we were able to show him some backyard projects we had done.”

In addition to discussing their routine medical conditions, they renewed prescriptions and scheduled a follow-up visit—all while birds chirped in the background. “We’ve been asking patients if they still want to come for their appointment and if they do, we offer to come out to their car,” Dr. Dukes says. “If they’re more comfortable not leaving home, we offer the Virtual Video Visit and if they don’t have a computer or smartphone, we offer a Telephone Visit.” 

Bill and Leslie Naucke of Corinth showed Dr. Erik Dukes around their backyard during their checkups last week. “The rapport with patients has been incredible,” Dr. Dukes says. “It’s kind of neat to see the patients in their own surroundings.” 

“Absolutely, we would do another virtual visit,” Leslie says. “It saved me gas and kept me at home.”
