Certified Athletic Trainers
Rhea Brown, MS, LAT, ATC
Rhea Brown joined the NMMC Sports Medicine Program in January 2008. He received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Mississippi State University and a master's degree in athletic training from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Before joining the NMMC staff, Brown had four years of ATC experience covering seven schools. He now covers Nettleton High School and Tupelo Christian Preparatory School.
Amy Dawson, LAT, ATC
Amy Dawson earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Mars Hill College in North Carolina. In 2007, she graduated from Mississippi State University with a master's degree in food science, nutrition and health promotion and joined the NMMC Sports Medicine staff. She provides athletic training services to Booneville High School.
Hunter Dawson, MS, LAT, ATC
Hunter Dawson joined the NMMC Sports Medicine Program in July 2009. He received his bachelor's degree with a concentration in athletic training from Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C., in 2007. He then proceeded to Troy University in Alabama where he served as a graduate assistant for the Trojan football team and intramural athletics. While at Troy University, he obtained his national certification and his master's degree in fitness and sport management with a concentration in athletic administration. He provides athletic training services for Saltillo High School.
Brandon Grecinger, LAT, ATC
Brandon Grecinger joined the NMMC Sports Medicine Program in August 2016. He received his bachelor's degree with a concentration in athletic training from Campbell University in 2013. He then proceeded to the University of Minnesota, where he received his master's degree in applied kinesiology in 2014. While in Minnesota, he worked with the Minnesota Wilderness hockey team for three seasons, winning one national championship. He provides athletic training services for Pontotoc High School.
Josh Holt, LAT, ATC
Josh Holt joined the NMMC sports medicine program in August 2018. A native of Corinth, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of North Alabama and his master's degree at the University of West Alabama. He obtained his NATABOC certification in December 2000. He previously worked as an outreach athletic trainer in Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi. He also served nine years as the head athletic trainer and instructor of athletic training for NCAA Division II Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn. He provides athletic training services to Itawamba Community College.
Nikki Monk, LAT. ATC
Nikki Monk joined the NMMC Sports Medicine Program in August 2017. A native of Fulton, she received her bachelor's degree from Delta State University in 2012 and her master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2014. While at USM, she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the volleyball team and men's and women's tennis teams. Before joining the NMMC staff, Nikki worked as an athletic trainer/medical assistant for three years in Birmingham. She provides athletic training services to Itawamba Community College.
Brad Voegele, M.ED., LAT, ATC
Brad Voegele is a graduate of Fayette County High School in Alabama and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Alabama. He became an ATC in 1995 and worked as a certified athletic trainer in the Cullman, Alabama, area until joining the NMMC Sports Medicine staff in 2008. He provides athletic training services for Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton.
Philip Weivoda, LAT, ATC
Philip Weivoda, LAT, ATC, a native of Portland, Oregon, joined the NMMC Sports Medicine program in September 2019. He received his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Oregon State University in 2013. During his time at Oregon State, he also worked as a training camp intern for the San Francisco 49ers prior to the 2012-13 season. After graduation, Weivoda worked as an intern at the University of Richmond in Virginia. Philip then worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the University of Mississippi football team. He provides athletic training services to Mooreville and Mantachie high schools.
Chase Wilkerson, LAT, ATC
Chase Wilkerson joined the Sports Medicine team in July 2020. A native of Booneville, he earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Delta State University in 2014. Before joining NMMC Sports Medicine staff, he worked as clinical/outreach athletic trainer in Birmingham, Alabama, and in the northeast Mississippi area. He provides athletic training services to Tupelo High School.
Walt Wilkins, LAT, ATC
A native of Lineville, Alabama, Walt Wilkins attended Mississippi College in Clinton. He attained national certification in 1994 and joined the NMMC Sports Medicine staff in 1996. Prior work experience includes serving as coordinator of sports medicine services for Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson, as a graduate assistant with the University of Alabama and as an ATC for UMS-Wright Preparatory School in Mobile, Alabama. In 2004 he returned to NMMC as the coordinator of the Sports Medicine Program.
