Dennis Smith, DO
Dr. Smith was named director of the Family Medicine Residency Center in June 2013. He received his osteopathic medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. Dr. Smith completed his residency at the NMMC Family Medicine Residency Program in Tupelo, where he also served as Chief Resident. He is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Smith practiced in Southaven, Miss., before returning to the Family Medicine Residency Center as a part of the faculty. He has completed a Primary Care Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Denaya Conley, DO
Dr. Conley earned her undergraduate degree from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA, and her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Sewanee, GA. Dr. Smothers completed her medical training at the Saint Francis Family Medicine Residency at University of Tennessee in Memphis. Before joining NMMC Family Medicine Resident Program, she served on the faculty of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Brentwood, TN.

William Davis, MD
Dr. Davis earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He completed his residency training at NMMC's Family Medicine Residency Center.

David Brooks, MD
Dr. Brooks earned his medical degree from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, and completed a Family Medicine residency in affiliation with the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. He practiced in the Emergency Department in Columbus, MS and then at Barnes Crossing Urgent Care Clinic in Tupelo before joining the Faculty at the Family Medicine Residency Center in 2003. He is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Academy of Family Physicians.

T. Ray Perrine, MD
Dr. Perrine received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He completed his Family Medicine residency at the Charleston division of the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is board certified in Family Medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Before joining the Family Medicine Residency Center faculty in 2003, Dr. Perrine practiced family medicine with the Charleston Family Practice Group and was an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the Charleston division of the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He completed a Primary Care Faculty Development Fellowship in Waco, Texas.

Augusto E. Soltero-Diaz, MD
Dr. Soltero-Diaz completed his medical training and served a medical internship at Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He then did his family medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic's Family Medicine Residency Program in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Soltero-Diaz followed that with a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. His undergraduate education includes a bachelor's degree in animal science and industry from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan.

Ethan Tillotson, MD
Dr. Tillotson, MD, graduated with an associate degree from Itawamba Community College in Fulton, received his bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Mississippi in Oxford and completed his medical training at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He completed his residency training at NMMC's Family Medicine Residency Center.

Terri Teague, DO
Dr. Teague earned her undergraduate degree from Lyon College and her master's degree in biology and neuroscience from the University of Central Arkansas in 2009. She received her medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015. She completed her residency at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY.

Heather Redwood, Administrator of Operations
Redwood graduated cum laude from Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing and accounting. She joined NMMC in 1996 and in 2001 transferred to the Family Medicine Residency Center.

James L. Taylor, PharmD
Dr. Taylor holds a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi and is the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Manager for NMMC. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Mississippi and Union University Pharmacy Schools.

Gina W. Smith, LCSW
Smith joined NMMC in 1988 as a rehabilitation social worker. In 1990 she was named assistant director of social work and transferred to NMMC Home Health in 1993 where she served for 19 years. Smith's experience also includes inpatient discharge planning, hospice and oncology services. She joined the FMRC staff in October 2017. Smith is a graduate of Samford University with a bachelor's degree in sociology and the University of Alabama with a master's degree in social work.

Anita White, Residency Coordinator
White serves as Residency Coordinator for the NMMC Family Medicine Residency Program. She joined the NMMC staff in 1993 and is a certified member of the Association of Family Medicine Administrators. White earned a degree in health sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She serves as secretary for the Itawamba County Master Gardeners.
