The NMMC Outpatient Rehabilitation Center located at Longtown Medical Park in Tupelo offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language therapy for all ages. We treat a variety of conditions, including injury recovery, back pain, knee pain, sciatica, sports injuries, arthritis, muscle weakness and much more.
Our physical therapists help you build strength, stability and endurance, increase range of motion and improve balance and mobility. Physical therapy uses therapeutic exercise, various therapies (such as ice, heat, massage or ultrasound) and hands-on techniques that ease pain and improve posture, strength, endurance, balance, coordination and joint mobility.
Our occupational therapists help people with temporary or permanent loss of function regain independence and quality of life. Occupational therapists help those with physical, developmental or emotional challenges perform daily activities. They also recommend ways to adapt your environment so you can be as independent as possible. Occupational therapists help patients with skills from eating, bathing and dressing to using a computer, getting in and out of the car, or doing household chores.
Our speech-language therapists help with everything from swallowing difficulties to memory deficits, voice dysfunction, oral motor skills and language barriers. They help improve your ability to express yourself and understand others. If full recovery is not possible, therapists help patients and family members learn compensatory techniques.
Services require referral from a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
