Biography
Vanessa Winter, FNP-BC, received her nursing degree and family nurse practitioner training from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus.
Winter said she chose health care almost by accident – she originally chose to major in occupational therapy, but she soon realized she was meant for nursing and switched majors.
When she graduated and began working as a nurse, she knew she wasn’t finished with school but wasn’t sure which direction to go. Her brother called one day and suggested nurse practitioner school. “I looked it up, applied that day and got in,” she says.
She enjoys reading, Netflix marathons on rainy days, spending time with her animals, writing, interior design, decorating, restoring furniture and spoiling her niece and nephew.
Professional Memberships
Winter is a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association.
