IV Therapy

Some illnesses cannot be treated with oral medicines. North Mississippi Health Services offers IV therapy, or infusion, as an alternative.

There are many reasons why your doctor may think you need a medicine administered some way other than by mouth.outpatient infusion

IV or infusion therapy is giving medication through an IV. An IV uses a sterile catheter inserted into a vein and secured.

Infusion therapy may be used to treat serious or chronic infections; cancers and pain caused by cancers; diseases of the gastrointestinal tract; dehydration caused by nausea, vomiting and diarrhea; and other serious diseases.

We provide several outpatient therapies, including:

  • Antibiotics
  • Immune Globulin
  • IM/SQ Therapies
  • IV Line Care
  • Blood Transfusions
  • RSV Prophylaxis (Synagis)
  • Chemotherapy
  • Pain Management
  • PICC/Midline Services
