Biography
Dr. Ashley Pickering treats eye diseases and disorders including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal diseases, macular degeneration, trauma, diabetic retinopathy and more.
A Belmont native, Dr. Pickering earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Mississippi State University in Starkville in 2014 and her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson in 2018. She completed residency training in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
Dr. Pickering graduated summa cum laude from MSU, where she received the Stephen D. Lee Scholar Award and was a member of the Shackouls Honors College. At UMMC she was involved in several research projects and served as president of the American Medical Women’s Association. She is married to Tyler Pickering, a native of Red Bay, Alabama.
Dr. Pickering sees patients at Tupelo Eye Center in Tupelo and its satellite clinics in West Point, Mississippi, and Hamilton, Alabama. She also performs surgery at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo, North Mississippi Surgery Center, North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point and North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton.
