David Pizzimenti

David Pizzimenti, D.O., F.A.C.O.I., is associate medical officer of Acute Care, which entails leadership of the hospitalist program and program director for an Internal Medicine Residency Program for North Mississippi Health Services. NMHS will apply for and develop an internal medicine residency program, with a July 2021 targeted start date. Before joining NMHS, he was the founding director of the internal medicine residency and hospitalist programs at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Mississippi.


Dr. Pizzimenti has multiple academic and committee appointments, including the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Resident Review Committee for Internal Medicine. He is also on ACGME’s subcommittee that creates the training standards for internists and internal medicine sub-specialists nationally.

He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida in Gainesville and his medical studies at Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, followed by his internal medicine internship and residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. A board- certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Pizzimenti was inducted to the American College of Osteopathic Internist College of Fellows in 2009. In addition, he is a certified wound care specialist.

Dr. Pizzimenti and his wife, Dr. Marissa Cruz, have practiced internal medicine in north Mississippi since 2005.
