OB/GYN Hospitalists

 

The OB/GYN hospitalist program at the North Mississippi Medical Center Women’s Hospital ensures that the doctor is always in. OB/GYN hospitalists enhance patient safety and outcomes, providing a critical safety net during emergencies or when OB/GYNs are not physically present in the hospital.

 

Neeka Sanders, M.D.

Dr. Sanders received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Millsaps College in Jackson and her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. She completed her residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thomas Pearson, M.D.

Dr. Pearson received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mississippi College in Clinton and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. He completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Terry McMillin, M.D.

Dr. McMillin received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Mississippi and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. He completed his OB/GYN residency training at the University of Tennessee/Chattanooga Unit, Baroness-Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.

 

 

 

Burton Price, M.D.

Dr. Price received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and his master’s degree in biochemistry from North Carolina Central University in Durham. He received his medical degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., and completed his OB/GYN residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

 

 

Pediatric Hospitalist

 

University of Mississippi Medical Center provides pediatric hospitalist services 24 hours daily at Women’s Hospital. The pediatric hospitalist consults with pediatric patients in the Emergency Department and provides hospital care for children on the Pediatrics unit.

 

 

Viswanath “Vishwa” Gajula, M.D., also cares full time for seriously ill pediatric patients at the NMMC Women’s Hospital. Dr. Gajula holds a master’s degree in environmental health management from the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio, degrees in medicine and surgery from Gandhi Medical College and Hospital/NTR University of Health Sciences in Hyderabad, India, and degrees in biology and physics from Sri Chaitanya University in Vijayawada, India. A pediatric critical care fellow at Children’s Hospital of Michigan/Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Gajula did his pediatric residency at Michigan State University-Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies
