Wheelchair Seating Clinic

Purpose

Our mission at the Wheelchair Seating Clinic is to provide our clients with a comprehensive assessment and custom-fitting process to meet their unique wheelchair mobility and positioning needs in a friendly and convenient setting. Our team of specially trained professionals will assess each client's neuro motor function, skin integrity, environmental accessibility and safety to maximize his or her functional mobility. Our team also provides in-depth instruction on the proper use and operation of all equipment that is recommended to clients.

Goals

Our goals are to:

  • Provide a comprehensive evaluation for clients who are required to spend more than four hours per day in a wheelchair
  • Provide each patient with a custom fitting of his or her new equipment
  • Make necessary modifications to our client's existing wheelchair and/or cushion
  • Provide the client with periodic re-evaluations to determine if existing equipment should be upgraded
  • Provide the client and caregivers with education regarding management of wheelchair equipment, skin care and positioning alternatives
  • Provide therapeutic support and a link to community resources
