Quality Measures

Quality Measures
track a variety of evidence-based, scientifically-researched standards of care which have been shown to result in improved clinical outcomes for patients.  The data is designed to assist improvement, not to appear as a grade on a report card. The results are submitted on a quarterly basis to The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which publicly reports the data to aid in hospital improvement efforts and transparency with the public



North Mississippi Health Services has received numerous awards for quality health care, technology and patient satisfaction, including the 2012 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

In 2005, NMMC was recognized as the winner of the American Hospital Association McKesson Quest for Quality Prize, a national award that recognizes innovation in quality, safety and patient care.


NMMC’s accolades also include being named as one of “America’s 25 Most Wireless” and “100 Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems.” Both awards acknowledge the hospital’s commitment to technology to produce higher quality communication among providers, patients and third parties.

Hospital Compare
A tool provided by the government to compare how well the hospitals in your area care for all their adult patients with certain medical conditions. This information will help you compare the quality of care hospitals provide. Hospital Compare was created through the efforts of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and organizations that represent hospitals, doctors, employers, accrediting organizations, other federal agencies and the public.

Provides information on healthcare quality so consumers can compare hospitals.


AHRQ Quality Indicators
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Indicators are measures of healthcare quality that make use of readily available hospital inpatient administrative data.


JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals
The mission of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of healthcare accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in healthcare organizations.
